The Saga of Ryzom: Free Full Accounts Available

The Saga of Ryzom: Free Full Accounts Available

Recently we opened the game to every single account for free and removed all restrictions on Unlimited Free Trial accounts making them truly "unlimited". Since then everyone who ever had an account and wasn't banned has been able to come and play and we've been very gratified to see so many people enjoying themselves on Atys.

Starting right now we have opened account creation for a limited number of free accounts! If you don't have a Ryzom account already, hurry and sign up; this will only be possible for a short time because there's a limited number of accounts to be created across all three communities!

The Saga of Ryzom in Financial Trouble Again

The Saga of Ryzom in Financial Trouble Again

Ryzom is going to pass through a few uncertain days/weeks, a second time. Our efforts to move Ryzom forward didn't get the expected repercussions and today as I speak, while the game continues to run and to be supported, the company behind its development - Gameforge France SARL, located in Paris - is lacking the funds to keep going. For those who've known the Nevrax times and went through the transitory period in last December, the same legal procedure of "liquidation judiciaire" has been put in place yesterday. This means that while the appointed liquidator will do what it takes to close the company, potential buyers may show up to take over the game Ryzom. If nobody shows up, the servers will be shut down in less than 3 weeks at liquidator's request.

Meanwhile, what is going to change for you? Ryzom is still running and your characters remain. However the game development has been frozen and the billing system and Free Trials are undergoing the following changes:
  • Paying subscribers will not be billed and will be able to continue playing for free.
  • It's not possible to pay to subscribe to a full Ryzom account anymore.
  • You will still be able to create a Free Trial account, but at the moment there will be no possibility to upgrade your account and go to mainland.
  • The level cap on Silan is removed for the Free Trials in the meantime.

The Saga of Ryzom: Podcasts by Beau Turkey on WarCry

I want to bring as much attention to the world of Atys as possible. I want people to stumble across my ramblings and think "that sounds interesting". Even hardcore players will admit that the game has a steep learning curve, but also agree that the game's challenges pay off in great rewards! Also, I want to allow the community another tool to express their love of them game. I want them to actually HEAR other players talk about Atys, and I hope it excites them.

The Saga of Ryzom: A new Era begins on Atys

The Saga of Ryzom: A new Era begins on Atys

a lot has happened on Atys. With new funds, new motivation and a lot of success Ryzom is being developped further, to satisfy your demands on a high quality MMORPG.

Plenty of bugs have been resolved and many new great features have gone online.

A few examples:
  • When leaving the Ruins of Silan you can choose your destination capital freely
  • A new graphic effect has been introduced: the Bloom effect
  • The four NPC bosses are back, more powerful and more clever than ever
  • In your buddylist you can see the onlinestatus of your buddies
  • The emote sytem has been reworked. You can now use custom emotes
  • You can now change the hairstyle of existing characters
  • New keyboard layouts have been added, so players of other MMOs find it easier to play Ryzom
  • The mission screen has been reworked. You can now choose between an extended mission list and a dropdown list

The Saga of Ryzom: Leaving the Ruins of Silan, Patch Notes

The Saga of Ryzom: Leaving the Ruins of Silan

In a future patch we plan to modify the NPCs that teleport you from the starter island to the mainland.

More freedom will be given to the refugees of Silan. The Karavan communication officer and the Kami guide will offer to teleport them to the capital city of their race (as is now the case) but they will also teleport them to any of the 3 others capitals, even though they will not be as keen to do so. Yep, maybe the strong presence of neutrality due to the big Atys Rangers' camp somehow weakened the will of the Factions that live nearby...

The goal of this change is to stop any destruction of potential friendships formed on the Ruins of Silan, or indeed to end up having one's girlfriend on the other side of the planet...
The Saga of Ryzom: Patch Notes

  • The four NPC bosses will be fine tuned.
  • The bug that prevented you from writing in your faction channel if you previously performed an emote will be corrected.
  • You won't be able to read emotes of the players who are on your ignore
  • When you were in the AFK state and then spoke in a tell window, the idle animations of your character were not taking into consideration what he had in his hands anymore. After the patch, your character will use the right animations again.

The Saga of Ryzom: The Ruins of Silan Review on MMORPG.com

The revised starter island is a great improvement compared to what the game used to have. The tutorial missions are a great help to players learning how to play the game. Overall The Ruins of Silan greatly improve the game with its simple design and small environment that introduces a player slowly to the world in their own time. Silan alone is worth the time to have a look at as it is one of the better starter areas that I’ve seen in some time in an MMO.

The Saga of Ryzom: Patch Notes
Dec 22, 2006 - 1:43 AM

The Saga of Ryzom: Patch Notes
  • Welcome back to the NPC Bosses!
  • The 1 Hand weapons should hit at their wished speed.
  • The Guild window will display the online status of the guild members.
  • Guild Leader and High Officers will be able to set a guild MOTD with the command /guildmotd "bla blah".
  • The Contact list should display properly the online status of your friends.
  • You will be able to receive tells when you are in the AFK state, to be AFK in water and while sitting.
  • Bloom effect: find more information here. It will be deactivated by default. Make sure you have the latest graphic drivers of your video card installed.
  • Fancy changing your usual look? The hairdressers worked hard to propose you new stylish haircuts.
  • You will be able to customise your emotes, as explained here.
  • The Factions channels will always be available to faction aligned homins. You won't have to be PvP tagged anymore to have access to them. Their name will also be simplified to "Kami" and "Karavan" for convenient purpose.
  • Consumables could be consumed again right after a death without having to wait until the end of the timer. Moreover, the consumables effects won't vanish anymore when logging off.
  • Ring: the objects and NPCs' number limitation are increased. In your Ring Scenario, you should be able to place 300 objects (components and bot objects) and 200 NPCs.
  • Ring Editor: you will be able to draw an array of walls. Simply tick the "Draw Array" option in the "Palette" and trace a line of objects.

The Saga of Ryzom: Escape the Isle Contest on WarCry

We are giving away 4 promotional Ryzom codes to a very lucky few who are stuck on the Island of Silan, on a trial account, who are very anxious to explore what lies ahead on the mainland and who wish to take full advantage of Ryzom's first expasion, the Ryzom Ring.

Ryzom Ring Review on MMORPG.com

Nevrax has introduced a revolutionary new expansion for Ryzom. Ryzom Ring, or R2, is the free add-on that allows its players to create their own content. Fully scripted and controlled scenarios that others players can enter and play through. From hack n' slash battles to roleplaying stories players are able to create whatever their imaginations can think of. There are, of course, limits, but the options are very broad, even with the limited tools at hand.
